Adaptive Sports for Veterans: New Opportunities in Odesa
In the city of Odesa, programs for adaptive sports aimed at military veterans in need of rehabilitation support are being actively implemented.
Thanks to the efforts of public organizations and sports clubs that work with individuals with disabilities, various sports are being integrated into the rehabilitation process, including wheelchair volleyball, badminton, golf, swimming, diving, and boxing.
Engaging in sports activities and participating in sporting events assist veterans in adapting to social life.
Specifically, Ukrainian Armed Forces veterans Dmitry Danilov, Sergey Kotsyuba, and Valery Chuguyev are representing the national billiards team at the WPA Heyball Parasport World Championship - 2024 in Los Angeles.
The preparation of Odesa athletes has been made possible through the support of the rehabilitation department of the Odesa City Council's Department of Health.
