The Odesa Health Department, in collaboration with the City Health Center, is actively engaging in initiatives aimed at detecting and preventing common diseases. Over a thousand residents participated in these activities throughout November.

Last week, health facilities organized a Day of Prevention and Early Detection of Eye Diseases for both adults and children. A total of 360 adults and 252 children received preventive ophthalmological examinations, revealing over 400 cases of eye diseases, including

✔️ 103 cases of retinal diseases,
✔️ 37 cases of cataracts,
✔️ 17 cases of glaucoma and other vision-related issues.
Additionally, in honor of International Radiologist Day, Odesa’s medical professionals conducted a Day of Prevention and Early Diagnosis of Respiratory Diseases. As a result, 427 individuals underwent preventive screenings, including

✔️ 229 individuals who received fluorography,
✔️ 198 patients who underwent radiological examinations.

This led to the discovery of 18 cases of respiratory diseases, including 6 suspected cases of tuberculosis, 7 cases of pneumonia, 5 cases of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and 1 case of emphysema.
All patients with identified health issues were referred to specialized professionals.
