Improvements to Street Lighting in Odessa

Specialists from the municipal enterprise «Odesmsksvitlo» are continuously engaged in the repair and enhancement of external lighting systems in the streets, parks, and squares of the city, as well as addressing emergency situations.

Regular inspections are conducted on street lighting facilities (poles, distribution boxes, lamps, etc.) to identify malfunctions or acts of vandalism. Electricians perform tasks such as upgrading cable networks, replacing outdated lamps and brackets with new ones, trimming tree branches, resolving emergencies, and more.

In the first 11 months of 2024, as part of routine repairs, electricians replaced 2390 lamps and 380 brackets, and updated 75003 meters of cable networks.

Workers also trimmed 7632 trees that were damaging the electrical networks.

Additionally, specialists from «Odesmsksvitlo» carried out the replacement of street lighting poles.

Often, due to emergency situations (bad weather, traffic accidents, etc.) or after the service life of the street lighting poles has expired, they become unusable. Replacing poles is a labor-intensive process that requires special machinery (cranes).

Since the beginning of 2024, 64 emergency poles have been replaced in 11 months, with 10 of them damaged in traffic accidents.

Furthermore, in October of this year, an act of vandalism was recorded on the Health Route. Unknown individuals damaged equipment on 10 poles, stealing automatic switches, terminal box covers, and ripping out cables.
