Enhancement of Barrier-Free Routes in Odessa
Recently, Odessa began the process of enhancing its barrier-free routes. Initial informational signs have appeared in key areas, which include zones with high pedestrian activity, social institutions, medical and educational facilities.
The project “Barrier-Free Route” continues to evolve.
Today marks the launch of a new phase of signage: ambassadors of the "Barrier-Free Movement" have placed special visual markers at public transport stops, in residential courtyards, and near essential social facilities. These markers will assist individuals with reduced mobility in navigating the city.
The implementation of the project in Odessa is initiated by the city mayor, Gennady Trukhanov. The coordination of this initiative is managed by the Barrier-Free Council, which includes experts, veterans, and representatives of community organizations.
