New Program for Drone Operators in Ukraine
The Ukrainian government has approved a new phase of the «Contract 18–24» program specifically for drone operators serving in the Armed Forces, National Guard, and State Border Service.
Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this on Telegram.
«At the request of President Volodymyr Zelensky, we are expanding the «Contract 18–24». The government has decided to launch a new program section — a contract for drone operators serving in the Armed Forces, National Guard, and State Border Service. This section has its specific conditions. The main one is a defined service term: two years», - emphasized Shmyhal.
Future drone operators will undergo up to 45 days of basic training, up to 60 days of specialized training (considering existing certificates), and a 14-day adaptation course.
«As in the main program, a payment of 1 million UAH is provided, which is made in three stages. After completing their service, defenders will receive additional support from the state, including a 0% mortgage», - noted Shmyhal.
Additionally, at the initiative of the Ministry of Defense, the government is submitting a draft law to Parliament for deferment for those who have served under the «Contract 18–24» program.
«Thus, everyone who voluntarily joined the military under contract will have the right to a 12-month deferment after reaching the age of 25», - Shmyhal highlighted.
Applications for the «Contract 18-24» can be submitted on the website: 18-24.army.gov.ua or through Reserve+.
