New Face of National Symbols of Ukraine
On August 24, ahead of Independence Day celebrations, the National Bank of Ukraine released a new set of silver coins titled «Symbols of Ukraine».
This release is dedicated to the fundamental elements of our statehood: the coat of arms, anthem, and flag of Ukraine.
The symbols we surround ourselves with can either unite or divide; national symbolism always reflects deep connections among citizens and conveys the most essential values.
«This is a symbol and meaning understood by millions of Ukrainians around the globe.
I proudly present to you another numismatic addition that we have prepared for Ukraine's Independence Day», — stated NBU Chairman Andriy Pyshny.
This set of commemorative coins «Symbols of Ukraine», crafted from silver, showcases the main attributes of Ukrainian statehood: the coat of arms, flag, and anthem.
The trident — a legacy from the times of Prince Volodymyr's state, symbolizes unity and freedom, the right to self-determination.
The blue and yellow flag — colors of the sky and wheat, symbolize prosperity, natural riches, and the flourishing of our country.
The anthem «Ukraine Has Not Yet Perished» — a song that has uplifted the nation’s spirit for over a century and calls for struggle.
«The symbols of the state live in the hearts of each of us. They unite generations, shape national memory, and remind us that freedom is a value we carry through time! They are immortalized in coins, reminding us that Ukrainian independence has a strong foundation — our unity, dignity, and memory», — the NBU chief emphasized regarding the spiritual significance of the new coins.
