Ensuring Pedestrian Safety in the Dark

Law enforcement in Odesa region is urging pedestrians to take care of their safety by wearing reflectors during the dark hours. Ensure that children also wear these essential items. It is crucial to avoid the risk on the road, especially in winter and during frequent power outages.
Police emphasize that many traffic incidents occur due to pedestrians' invisibility, and many of these accidents could have been prevented if victims had reflective elements like strips, stickers, vests, or other accessories that help drivers notice them in advance.
It's important to remember that a person wearing reflective clothing or with reflective elements is visible to a driver from 130-150 meters away. This distance is enough for the driver to react in time to your presence on the road.
Do not overlook these small but significant details, which are also outlined in traffic rules. Stay responsible!
