Supporting Entrepreneurship Among Displaced Persons in Odesa
On October 31, 2024, a city council meeting was held in Odesa to address issues concerning internally displaced persons.
The meeting focused on the development of small and medium enterprises among the displaced population.
Future entrepreneurs from among the internally displaced were provided with information on:
- the procedure for state registration of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs: key principles, required documents, and recommendations;
- taxation systems for business entities: options for small and micro businesses;
- loan programs from «Ukreximbank»;
- loan programs from «Oschadbank»;
- opportunities for recovery and expansion through market access and sustainable economic transformations provided by the «Caritas Odesa UGCC» Charity Fund;
- assistance for entrepreneurs in starting and developing their businesses;
- support programs for economic entities in the city of Odesa.
After the meeting, participants had the chance to engage with service providers who informed them about grant opportunities, compensation for employing displaced individuals, and provided contacts for future business growth.
Participants included representatives from the Department of Labor and Social Policy, the Department of Economic Development, the State Registration Office of the Odesa City Council, the Main Office of the State Tax Service in Odesa, the Odesa Employment Center, Ukreximbank, Oschadbank, the Dii Business Support Center in Odesa, the «Caritas Odesa UGCC» Charity Fund, as well as internally displaced persons.
