Man Arrested in Odesa for Distributing Child Pornography
Under the supervision of the Malinovsky District Prosecutor's Office in Odesa, a 38-year-old man has been charged with distributing pornography and sexually assaulting a minor (part 2 of Article 301, part 3 of Article 156-1, and parts 4 and 6 of Article 153 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation revealed that the suspect found a 10-year-old girl's account on the messaging app «Telegram». Aware of her age, he pretended to be a 12-year-old boy to gain her trust and initiate communication.
During their conversations, he sent the girl pornographic images and videos, and through psychological manipulation, tried to convince her to meet in order to keep their communication hidden from her parents.
After receiving her consent, he arranged three meetings in remote, deserted locations. Taking advantage of her age, which limited her ability to resist both physically and mentally, he repeatedly committed sexual assaults against her.
It was also established that an indictment related to similar crimes is already being reviewed by the Uman District Court in Cherkasy region.
Currently, at the request of the prosecution, the suspect has been placed in custody.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by detectives from the Police Department No. 1 of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa region.
