Financial Support for Newborns in 2025
In 2025, families welcoming a newborn will continue to receive financial assistance to cover the costs associated with the one-time natural assistance «baby package».
This financial aid is a one-time payment for each live-born child to purchase various baby products, including childcare items, clothing, nutrition, toys, and children's textiles like towels and blankets.
The compensation is granted to the parents of the newborn, and in their absence, to foster caregivers or guardians. The payment is made cashless by transferring funds to a special account in one of the banks participating in the monetization of the «baby package» program. A list of these banks can be found on the official website of the State Service for Children of Ukraine.
The amount of cash compensation equals three times the minimum subsistence level for children under the age of six at the time of the child's birth. Starting January 1, 2025, this amount will be 7689 UAH.
Applicants can request the cash compensation in various ways:
- in person, by submitting a paper application to the social protection authorities;
- via postal service in paper form;
- electronically, by submitting an application through the comprehensive electronic public service «eBaby».
To receive the compensation, it is important that the application is submitted within 12 months from the date of the child's birth.
Within one year of the funds being credited to the account, the recipient can use this amount to purchase goods at stores participating in the monetization program. A list of such stores is published on the Ministry of Social Policy's website.
Additionally, parents and newborns have access to the natural assistance «baby package», which contains over 50 essential baby items. The updated “baby package” for 2025 includes new popular items, such as reusable diapers and warm clothing, along with an increased blanket size and reduced quantity of smaller clothing. A useful book titled “From Birth to One Year” has also been added, developed with the support of UNICEF.
