Arrest for Trafficking Dangerous Ammunition
Law enforcement in the Odessa region have apprehended an individual involved in the illegal trade of dangerous ammunition and have filed charges against him. He faces significant penalties.
Police documented an incident where a 33-year-old man sold ammunition twice to an acquaintance. Initially, he sold 50 rounds, followed by three grenade bodies and their fuses.
With the involvement of explosive experts, law enforcement seized the dangerous items for further examination. Their classification as ammunition was confirmed by all necessary evaluations.
The perpetrator was detained, and based on the collected evidence, he was charged with illegal acquisition and sale of ammunition without the required permits. This crime falls under part 1 of article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and is punishable by up to seven years in prison.
The court chose a preventive measure of detention with the possibility of bail set at 60,560 UAH, which the suspect utilized.
Authorities are investigating the source of the ammunition in the suspect's possession during the pre-trial investigation.
The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the Primorsky District Prosecutor's Office in Odessa.
