World Autism Awareness Day: The Importance of Support
Every year on April 2nd, the world observes a day dedicated to increasing awareness about autism, established by the UN in 2007.
To enhance understanding of autism and its impact on individuals' lives, a roundtable discussion titled «Children with Autism in Today's Society» was held at the Community Center for Rehabilitation of Persons with Special Needs.
Participants included representatives from the Department of Social Policy of the Odesa City Council and social protection specialists.
Experts shared their experiences working with children on the autism spectrum and discussed challenges in communication with them and their parents. Topics also included motor development issues and innovative therapeutic methods like hydrotherapy.
An open musical session was showcased, illustrating how to cultivate musical abilities in children with autism.
At the conclusion of the roundtable, attendees expressed gratitude for the event's organization and suggested hosting a conference in Odesa involving specialists in the field.
