Honoring the Heroism of Odesa Rescuers

Over 400 rescuers from the Odesa region were awarded state honors and special titles in celebration of their professional holiday. The Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region recognized this event as an acknowledgment of the dangerous and vital work, courage, and bravery of civil protection specialists. The awards symbolize gratitude and trust from the state and society towards those who risk their lives daily to save people in the context of war.

According to the State Emergency Service of Odesa, the ceremonial awarding took place ahead of the professional holiday for civil protection workers in Ukraine. Awards were given to rescuers, firefighters, and other specialists who ensure the safety of the population in emergency situations.

“In wartime conditions, the work of rescuers has become even more dangerous and vital for the country. They risk their lives every day, saving people from rubble after shelling, extinguishing fires from missile strikes, and eliminating the consequences of enemy attacks on critical infrastructure,” the SES noted.

State awards and special titles were granted to specialists who distinguished themselves during their official duties, demonstrating courage and professionalism in the difficult conditions of wartime. The awarding recognized their contribution to ensuring the safety of the civilian population.

The Day of Civil Protection Workers in Ukraine is celebrated on September 17 as the professional holiday of those who ensure the safety of the population in emergency situations.
