Details: The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced that a meeting will be held in Ankara on April 15 and 16, focusing on Black Sea security following a potential ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.

The meeting will occur at the naval forces headquarters. Military representatives from foreign nations will attend. The agenda will cover naval planning to support a peaceful environment in the Black Sea.

The Turkish Ministry of Defense did not specify which countries would participate but noted that no Russian officials would be present.

Previously, Turkish media reported, citing sources within the Turkish Ministry of Defense, that there would be a meeting on Black Sea security with both Ukrainian and Russian representatives.

Background: Following negotiations in Saudi Arabia from March 23-25, the US, Russia, and Ukraine agreed to discuss securing shipping in the Black Sea.

However, after that, Russia presented a list of demands, including the easing of several sanctions against the agricultural sector. The US stated it would consider these demands, while in Europe, the easing of sanctions was dismissed.
