Mental Health Support Event at University
The Southern Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynskyi hosted a significant event titled «Mental Health Preservation: Paths to Support». This initiative was part of the «How Are You?» program launched by Ukraine's First Lady Olena Zelenska.
The goal of the event was to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and to create a platform for discussion and experience sharing.
More than 40 participants attended offline, with over 100 joining online, including students, psychologists, educators, and community activists.
Welcoming speeches were delivered by Deputy Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration Dmytro Radulov, University Rector Andrii Krasnozhon, and the regional coordinator of the «How Are You?» program Anna Velychko. They emphasized the importance of consolidating efforts in the field of mental health and the special role of youth in building psychological resilience in society.
The event's program included an engaging quiz, interactive activities, and practical tools for mental well-being support.
Andrii Bortov, the head of the Mental Health Center, moderated the event and presented current statistical data regarding requests for mental health professionals.
At the end of the event, participants engaged in a gratitude practice, creating a symbolic «Tree of Gratitude» with personal wishes and supportive messages.
This event confirmed the growing interest in mental health topics and the importance of continuing such initiatives in the region.
The development and implementation of the All-Ukrainian mental health program «How Are You?» is overseen by the Coordination Center of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine with expert support from the World Health Organization.
