Art Secrets of Odessa: Lessons from Mykhailo Reva

Renowned Ukrainian artist Mykhailo Reva introduced children to the secrets of Odessa's sculptures.

Mykhailo Reva — a prominent figure in Odessa's art scene, sculptor, architect, and graphic artist. His works not only beautify Odessa but also many other cities around the globe. Some of his iconic pieces include the sculpture «The 12th Chair» in the City Garden, the «Angel of Mercy» near the Litvak Rehabilitation Center, as well as «The Tree of Love» and the fountain «The Beginning of Beginnings» in the Greek Park.

The artist is the founder of the Reva Foundation, a laureate of international competitions and a winner in the Babyn Yar Memorial Museum project.

«Sculptures preserve the memory of events, people, and eras; they are markers of time that shape the character of urban space. Such moments — meetings with the younger generation — are an investment not just in culture as a field, but in culture as a way of thinking,» noted Mykhailo Reva.

During the workshop tour, children learned about the process of creating sculptures, saw the materials the artist works with, and discovered his current projects.
