Cultural Event of Odesa in Venice
As part of the Odesa Days in Venice, a festive concert took place at the renowned Teatro La Fenice — one of the most famous opera houses in the world. This event marked a significant moment in cultural diplomacy between Ukraine and Italy, emphasizing the deep connections between Odesa and Venice.
The stage featured talented musicians from Odesa: world-renowned violinist Georgiy Sokolov, pianist Anastasia Melnyk, and singer Anastasia Bukina. They presented a rich and diverse program that blended classical pieces with modern interpretations. A particular highlight of the concert was authentic Odesa songs. Their performance served as an emotional opening to a series of events that would unfold in Venice over the coming days.
Odesa’s mayor, Gennadiy Trukhanov, expressed gratitude to Venice’s mayor, Luigi Brugnaro, for his support and assistance in organizing the events. Additionally, Ukrainian veterans are set to participate in the prestigious Venice regatta — a first in history.
