Celebrating 20 Years: The Olympic Reserve Climbing School
On March 30, 2025, the Specialized Children's and Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve for Climbing celebrated its 20th anniversary.
This is the first and only specialized climbing school in Odessa and Ukraine. Over the past two decades, through the dedication of coaches and athletes, the school has achieved a top-tier status and has become a recognized Olympic reserve sports school.
Approximately 1000 athletes have been trained at the school, including multiple champions and medalists of world, European, and Ukrainian championships. Throughout its existence, the school has produced three international class sports masters (Anastasia Savisko, Konstantin Pavlenko, Grigory Ilchishin) and 21 national sports masters in climbing.
Notable guests at the celebration included Igor Koval, Secretary of the Odessa City Council, Honorary Citizen of Odessa Valentin Simonenko, representatives from the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, and coaches and parents of athletes.
During the event, the school's director, Lyubov Zymova, was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.
Before the festivities, participants and guests had the opportunity to view displays showcasing the school's journey over the past 20 years.

Sport climbing is an Olympic sport performed on artificial walls, which evolved from traditional climbing. It features three main disciplines: difficulty climbing, speed climbing, and bouldering. Each discipline involves athletes climbing a route using holds placed on the wall.
