Training Future Law Enforcers: Insights into Combatting Drug Crimes

The event featured  the Deputy Head of the Drug Crime Unit of the National Police in Odessa region, Dmytro Chekmar'ov.

Third-year law students had a unique opportunity to acquire valuable knowledge from a police specialist in drug crime prevention, who explained the importance of collaboration between investigators and operative units, sharing practical experiences in fighting drug crimes.

“Combating drug crime is a complex and multifaceted process that requires coordinated efforts from all police units. It is essential not only to apprehend drug dealers but also to detect and dismantle drug labs, as well as to trace the entire supply chain of drugs to dependent individuals,” noted Dmytro Chekmar'ov.

During the class, students familiarized themselves with the specifics of conducting covert investigative actions, methods, and forms of operational investigative activities in this field.

Students showed special interest in the photo and video materials demonstrating the locations of drug-related crimes and their cessation.
