Ukrainian Karate Triumphs at the World Championship
From November 27 to 30, the World Karate Championship took place in Cairo, Egypt, featuring 384 athletes (192 men and 192 women) from 88 countries.
Ukrainian karate star Angelika Terlyuga made headlines by winning a bronze medal in the under 55 kg category.
After losing in the quarter-finals to Egyptian competitor Akhlam Youssef (3:8), Angelika had the opportunity to compete for bronze when her opponent reached the finals. She won against Valentina Toro Meneses from Chile (ranked No. 2 in the WKF world rankings) with a score of 6:4, showcasing her skill and determination.
This year, following the birth of her child, Angelika also proved her high caliber by securing a silver medal at the World Games in Chengdu, China.
