Celebrating Defender's Day in Ukraine
Today, October 1st, Ukraine celebrates Defender's Day. On this day, we pay tribute to the unwavering spirit of defenders who fought for and upheld Ukraine's independence in the past, as well as the courage and heroism of Ukrainian soldiers, veterans, and volunteers who are currently defending the territorial integrity of our country.
The Mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, congratulated everyone on Defender's Day:
«Dear defenders! On behalf of myself and the entire Odesa community — from every family, every heart, every home — we extend our words of gratitude to you. You are the ones who keep the light in our windows. Those who do not allow fear to settle in our hearts. Those through whom we have a future. We do not just say thank you; we support: we work, volunteer, pray. We do not just wait — we build the country to which you will return victorious. May every «thank you» become armor for you. May every child's smile, every peaceful morning, every new day be proof that you fight not in vain. May the Lord protect Ukraine!»
